Thrive Consultant, Pat Harland covering Liverpool, Wirral and Chester
As a Consultant Practitioner of the Thrive Programme (incorporating Changing Limiting Beliefs) I am fully committed to help you learn how to take control of your life and alter the way you think and feel about normal or challenging everyday experiences or situations. This learning experience is geared towards empowering and enabling YOU to take responsibility for yourself and your outlook on life and making the changes necessary for you to build a better life for yourself and your loved ones.
Whilst you are undergoing the course you will be completing a work book outside of the sessions and discovering the inherent and also the learned helpful and unhelpful characteristics and traits of your personality. You will also be taking a microscopic look at your own belief systems and understanding them more. Thrive is suitable for children from the age of around 7/8 years old, teenagers and adults. See also my Thrive for Teenagers page.
During the sessions we will be discussing what you have learned about yourself and just how to put that knowledge to good use. We will be looking at alternative behaviours, attitudes and perspectives and I will teach you how to manage your thinking process and your emotions.
The course takes around 4-8 one on one sessions to complete and during the course you will also learn an amazingly simple technique which bears the acronym DREAM. This technique will quickly help you to eliminate those fears, phobias, anxieties, behaviours and unwanted habits such as smoking or drinking too much. In some circumstances I do offer sessions via skype.
This extraordinary programme will allow You to take back the control in your life.
Thrive is suitable for all symptoms whether they be physical, chronic, behavioural, habitual or emotional. Conditions such as post viral fatigue syndrome (PVFS), Post Traumatic Stress, Depression or Myalgic Encephalopathy (ME) may be helped with the programme.
The potential for change is limitless and with the Thrive Programme you will begin to understand that it can help with absolutely anything.
Your world CAN become a much brighter place. You may not be able to prevent the challenges in life occurring but you can definitely be in a better position to deal with them successfully.

The main difference between the Thrive programme and CBT, is THRIVE’s huge emphasis on the trainee KNOWING and UNDERSTANDING how their mind and body interact:
- How their cognitive processes work,
- How their belief systems are formed,
- How their personality type and their thinking styles interact together,
- How their two main limiting belief systems hold them back in life, and
- Why their external locus of control has such a big impact upon them!

Testimonial from Kelly-Marie Whitney, symptom – unexplained epilepsy, Hereford
I just want to say thank you for helping me help myself, really has been such a huge help in changing my life around. I can now do the things that I wouldn’t of done before I came to you. Before I came to get help to help myself, I am a known epileptic and used to have around 3/4 seizures a day. I never went anywhere without anyone with me due to having been told 4 year ago not to be allowed on my own as I couldn’t be trusted and I was a danger to myself and others.
So for 4 years I have gone everywhere with someone, not even to the bathroom in a public place on my own. After the years went on I made myself have an anxiety problem of not going anywhere without someone, if I did I would properly have a fit and get very worried and stressed (which is the overall cause of my epilepsy).
I have become very tired and not happy with where things were going so I saw the add in the paper and I rang Pat, and she phoned me back. I had a sigh of relief when she said she could help me….
I went to see Pat which may I say is very calm and professional and understanding, the room you sit in together is calm and very soothing even music to help you relax.
I went through a course of Thrive (formerly changing limited beliefs) which is so down to earth as you go through and really does make a difference to your life if you go through properly and want to change….
I would and have been recommending Thrive to people and to anyone that feels they would like to try, as I have and now I’ve been seizure free for four and a half months. Only a few blips in public places but I always result to my course and i get through with no problems.
If I didn’t look through the paper that day I would be still having someone by my side instead of looking forward to having my driving licence…
